Meteor Test Speed

Meteor is the first internet speed testing app designed for all Earthlings—not just engineers! Meteor will not only test your internet speed but also give you information about the expected user experience of your favorite apps, based on their requirements. Say goodbye to technical jargon—Meteor goes beyond numerical results and gives you access to a simplified qualitative scale.

Main features:

★ Testing methodology that indicates the speeds you can expect, not the maximum speeds that rarely occur.
★ Ratings for 6 apps selected from a list of the 27 most popular.
★ Details of each application with specific activity ratings.
★ Independent coverage maps, made with user-provided data
★ History of test locations with the best connection.
★ Free and ad-free.

If any of your favorite apps aren't on our list, or if you have feedback about our rating system, please email us at [email protected]. We're continually evaluating and improving Meteor.

You can also meet Cosmo Monstro, who is always available to help you discover the app and show you the features of each section.

Meteor is part of the Opensignal family, and you have the option to contribute to the world's largest crowdsourced project on mobile signal and data speed. The app has a fully anonymous system for collecting information about your mobile connection quality, data speed, and the quality of your Wi-Fi connections. Your contribution to this project helps improve the quality of mobile connections worldwide.

Are your apps running too slow? Can't watch videos or download files? Can't send photos on WhatsApp? Want to test if your mobile or Wi-Fi connection is fast enough to do everything you want? Find out with Meteor!

Advanced Notes

– The overall rating scale for your internet speed depends on the apps you chose as your favorites.
– Meteor performs the tests using the connection you are currently connected to – mobile or wifi (i.e. ADSL).
– You can rename your speed tests so they are more easily identifiable (this will change how they are displayed in History and on maps) – do this in History, Results, View List
– In your Control Panel, you can see separately the locations where the tests gave the best and worst speed results, as well as an overview of all the tests run.
– You can see upload, download, or latency limits for all apps.
– Please note that latency (commonly called ping) is typically much lower (faster) on Wi-Fi and 4G (LTE) and 5G than on 3G and 2G connections.
Coverage maps are available for all carriers and extend to street level. Coverage maps are based on the signal obtained by the user—wherever they've been, the signal data is aggregated and displayed on the map.
